Time to catch up ...
It has been a chaotic and hectic two months ... and as Oboe so eloquently shows, it's good to be through it ...
Looking back it has been a remarkable journey ... the ups and downs have been extreme, and every time it seemed like things were about to work out okay, a sudden twist or turn came, and life began yet another tumble ... but some how despite it all - we've made it through.
This past week the un-packing took a more intentional turn as Ms H and Noahkila arrived, and began to get themselves settled ... but even the act of getting them mattresses for their beds was not immune to a bit of drizzle from the Murphy's Law cloud that has settled over us lately ...
On the day the mattresses were to be ready to picked up, I called and called and called the store, but kept getting the answering machine ... L tried a couple of times and FINALLY got a real person ... a rude person, but a real person nonetheless ... it turns out that the store had been broken into the night before and at that very moment the police were still investigating and trying to determine what had been taken !!!!
YIKES !!!! They couldn't even tell us if OUR mattresses were amongst those that were taken ... later that day we were called and assured that our mattresses were still there, and we could come and pick them up ...
UGH!!!
So, the process of unpacking and settling in continues ... it is a matter of taking things one day at a time ... facing what comes ... planning what might be ... and savouring each moment for what it offers ... like Oboe lying in the morning sun on the kitchen floor - it's all about being present to what life offers ...
It's been a long journey ... and even though it continues, it is considerably brighter and more upbeat then it has been for a very long time !!!
Last of the 'shrooms?
-
I keep finding mushrooms. The first three of these are from Oyster Bay,
this week.
*This looks like an Amanita, but I've never seen one that drooped like...

Hi Reverend Shawn
This is one of the Samaritan House Gang. Life seems to be kicking you in the ass with a softer shoe. I'm glad to see things are going a little better for you and yours. We sure miss you around here. God bless you. Marcia says hi.
