As an American, pride is not something I am very familiar with, but reading your post certainly gave me a sense of it!
After the last 8 years of Bush, and the 12 years of Reagan-Bush that preceded him and Bill ... Pride is a rare commodity in the US ... give Prez. Obama some time Katie ... he'll restore some of that lost pride ... give him time.
