the Royal Canadian Legion from here in Minnedosa.
They honoured us with their presence,
with the laying of a wreath in Remembrance
and by the Marching in of the Colours.
Our service was one of Remembrance.
It gained significance and poignancy
by the presence of one of those wounded in Afghanistan.
As part of our Story Stool time (a story unto itself), we talked about
the reason for wearing a Red Poppy, and the poem that speaks so
eloquently about the Poppies blowing amid the mud and crosses and battles.
"In Flanders Fields" reminds us of the sacred duty to remember ...
We Remember ...
... Lest We Forget.
