To live by example ...

Having burned the candle at both ends for too long ...
Having my days start too early, and end too late ...
Having pushed myself a little too hard lately ...
I'm becoming more and more like the feline residents in our house ...

There are few naps as rewarding and enjoyable than an afternoon nap ...

Posited between picking the kids up from school and dinner,
the nap,
be it ten minutes, a half an hour or even a full hour,
is a glorious gift.

For a brief interlude
worries are gone, concerns melt away, and life is left behind ...

Ingredients for the best naps:
- lying on a bed
- window open with a slight breeze and fresh air
- blinds up, letting the afternoon sun to dance around the room
- an abundance of soft pillows
- the noise of life in the background (kids, dogs, wind - whatever ...)
- a light blanket or quilt if necessary
- and time to just lay down and snooze ...

An afternoon nap doesn't need to be long ...
even a five minute power nap will do ...

However they happen,
an afternoon nap helps to remind me why Cats are so cool ...
They set a good example, one we would do well to follow ...

... for that matter, what do we have to lose taking regular afternoon naps???
