As the day progressed there were moments of laughter and mirth in the office ... some arising from last the day to day reality of working in a small space, others arising from achievements and accomplishments attained throughout the day ...
There was of course laughter with friends and acquaintences throughout the day ... and then nearing the end of the day, waiting outside, and within the ICU of Brandon's Hospital, there was laughter and smiles amid the sorrow and sadness of the moment. Laughter came easily as the web of lives lived together in relationship as family were recalled and memories were shared ... It affirmed the line of the hymn that tells us - "that laughter with tears brings most healing relief ..."
Sometimes in the face of death, laughter is the greatest affirmation of life we can offer ... Today I witnessed it among friends and families ... Laughter is not frivolous when it is recalling a life lived with love and care and compassion. In those moments, such laughter is an affirmation of Life's preciousness and the JOY and the love that pours forth in our lives ...
Laughter is a gift from God ... and when it arises, it can help us healing, wholeness and light, even in the most trying of circumstances ...
Laughter merely affirms life ... and today I was blessed to sit among people who affirmed the life they cherish, by laughing and celebrating it ... Dayneu !!
