She announced her arrival on the back porch with a resounding "whoomp" on the kitchen door, followed by a flurry of canine feet trying to escape the airborne visitor's sudden appearance ...With a tea towel, Aunti W gently picked her up out of the window (and the assorted clutter held on our back porch), she held her for a moment ... all the attempted pictures were blurrier than the one below ...
Then taking her outside we let her return to the trackless prairie sky to again do what Merlins do best ... hunt ...
She was beautiful, and it was awesome to have her stop by for a visit. Though I'm sure she was less than pleased with herself and the failure of her navigational skills this morning ...

Actually a Merlin is a type of hawk ... but owls, hawks and eagles are all equally awesome birds ...
and yes, it flew right into the porch at the back of the house!
