A thought to ponder ...

In an introduction to"Comparing Mythologies" a published lecture delivered by Tomson Highway, John Moss writes:

Facts are only the random detritus of our lives until they are connected by story. Stories, to paraphrase Robert Kroetsch, make us real. If there is anything like truth accessible to our in the world, it must be thorugh the ways we tell of ourselves to each other. For such sharing, we use words, design images, make music and dance, we make what in the world we call art, and what is elsewhere accepted as the warp in the fabric of life; the west is the time of our hearing, or watching, or listening. Tomson Highway, through his life as a musician and social worker, writer and dramaturge, shares sometimes uncomfortable truths, sometimes beautiful truths that we know only because we feel it within, where it haunts us with tears and with laughter ...

... Facts are only the random detritus of our lives until they are connected by story !!!
