The sun was shining - but it was cold, cold, cold ...

There are few pleasures as wonderful as skating along a natural ice surface like a lake, or in the case of Ottawa and Winnipeg, the Rivers that wend their way through thier environs.

Fortunately for Minnedosa, we have the vast ice covered surface of the Lake to explore ... or at least a small cleared corner of it !!

I love skating on the surface of lakes and looking down to see the thickness of the ice ... the cold green-blue of the water, and the occassional glimpse of the bottom !!! I remember skating on Lake Ontario in front of Queens University many years ago and watching the fish swimming (albeit slowly) underneath the ice ... it was amazing!!!
