Tonight Noahkila and I popped in a DVD of The Red Skelton Show from the 1950's that I had picked up a couple of years ago in a clearance bin at Wal-Mart ...
We laughed like fools ... the antics of Red, Martha Rae, Vincent Price, Jackie Coogan, Richard Deacon, Jack Lemmon and Walt Disney who each made an appearance, and dozens of others offered a refreshing comedic break ... the humour was soft and naive, but had an edge that was funny without being hurtful ... watching Red and others fight to keep from cracking up on live television, or whe they just gave in and rolled with laughter was simply infectious ...
It was a good way to pass a couple of hours ...
I think I'll have to check out those clearance bins a little more closely from now on ... 5 bucks for 20 episodes of classic TV is money well spent ...
