Telling us what we already know ...

Eckhart Tolle writes:

... some changes may look negative on the surface, but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.

There will be a period of insecurity ad uncertainty. WHAT SHALL I DO? As the ego is no longer running your life, the psychological need for external security, which is illusionary anyway, lessens. You are able to live with uncertainty, even enjoy it. When you become comfortable with uncertainty, infinite possibilities open up in your life. It means fear is no longer a dominant factor in what you do and no longer prevents you from taking action to initiate change. The Roman philosopher Tacitus rightly observed that "the desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise." If uncertainty is unacceptable to you, it turns into fear. If it is perfectly acceptable it turns into increased aliveness, alertness and creativity."

David Deida challenges us to lean into our fears - to embrace them thereby lessening their hold over us ... I've mused on this previously around here ... (click here for the first posting ... click here for the second) Last night a conversation on the side of the soccer field after a day filled with some very intense, personal and emotional conversation on life with a good friend made me realize that Tolle and Deida are not at odds with each other, but are complimentary guides for the journey of life ...

In a place of uncertainty there are only possibilities ... the only hinderance to experiencing, realizing and living the fullness of those possibilities is FEAR ... and fear is simply being closed to the possibilities and dwelling on what WAS, rather than seeing what is ...

It's a leap of faith ... but there is no cliff to jump off of ... the only cliff if the one we've created in our mind by not seeing what's really here ...

Possibilities unfold at every turn in our life journey ... there is no cliff to plunge off of, and there is simply nothing here to fear ...

It's THAT simple !!

Thanks be to God !!!
(and to Tolle and Deida too !!)
