"What greater thing is there for two souls, than to feel they are joined for life - to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting?"

George Elliot...hmmmm, another one of my favorite writers. And another beautiful quote.
I think I've come to believe that the type of love she describes here is an impossible one. I mean, are there two people who can sustain a union such as this... for life? I always said I would never become jaded, but these days I'm afraid I have.
I would give anything to have a relationship that reflected such beautiful sentiments. Do you think it's really possible?
